Guest guest
, Bummer. Have you tried cashew butter? I like it, but know what you mean about picky palates! There is also sesame butter, never tried that. Those are in larger grocery stores or Whole Foods. Janelle
Guest guest
, You can use Spectrum spread as a margerine sub. Flour mixes are: White Flour: 2 parts white rice flour, 1/3 part tapioca starch, 2/3 potato starch. Brown flour mix: 2/3 part Garfava Flour, 1/3 part sorghum (also called Jowar), 1 part cornstarch (or arrowroot), 1 part tapioca starch The Brown mix makes good waffles, but became gummy when I tried to use it to make cranberry bread. You can use it as a substitute for wheat flour. Don't forget to add 1 tsp of xantham gum per cup of flour mix or as directed if it is a GF recipe. All ingredients available from Miss Roben's if you can't get them locally. Sorry I don't have more suggestions, I have an extremely picky 2 year old who won't even try anything. We are GFCFSF and peanut and corn free, too!! Good luck! GFCFSF Can someone please give me some specific brands of food that I can use now that I discovered soy (and peanut too.UGH!!!) has to go. Margarine, mayo, and others. I do the corn chip bit and can substitute flours (tho I would like the ratio of flours listed to make the flour mix most recommended). We have made almosnd butter and jelly sandwiches on rice cakes, but that is the only luncg I have managed to get past the pinicky palate of ASpergers 10 yr old. ANy food substitutions and brands you can recommend would be appreciated. Especially grocery store or health food store items. Thanks, D
Guest guest
* The only safe mayonaise I have found that is GFCFSF is from Miss Robens. It is called " Canoline " and we use it ALL the time. Besides just for sandwiches I use it for a cold pasta/chicken salad. My almond butter I but at Trader Joes (the cheapest I have found it). Miss Robens even has chocolate pieces chips that are GFCFSF too. Get one of her catalogs 1- or go online at www.missroben.com . I am VERY pleased with their service. I call my orders in (I have no internet service) and this way I can ask all my questions too.
