Guest guest
Hi, I'm 8 months post-op and I've been dealing with a challenge from day one. I have been allergic to dairy products for almost 20 years. This is an allergy, not an intolerance. Because of this I'm having a very difficult time getting in the required amount of protein, I'm usually able to eat 60 grams a day but to be honest I'm so sick of eating I can't hardly stand it. I'm eating when I'm not hungry just to get more protein in. I can't stand the soy shakes, so I have decided I need to try the liquid protein products. I found the Twinlabs stuff that has been recommended but it doesn't really say much about the ingredients. It states that it is: " A concentrated and peptide-bonded free amino acid supplement containing all the essential amino acids derived from the natural enzyme hydrolysis (digestion) of collagen protein and whey protein. Also contains 100% of the U.S. RDA of B-complex vitamins. " Whey protein is dairy, but I'm wondering if because it is pre- digested if I might be able to use it. Do any of you have dairy allergies that have used this and what was your experience? Also, I found a liquid protein made by Solgar and it states it is made from collagen. Has anyone tried this and what was it like? I'd appreciate any input at all, Thanks in advance, Barbi
