Guest guest
Hi all... I think my biggest challenge post-op may be that Nectar of the Gods in a red can, Coca-Cola. I seriously like Coke. I think if I was given a choice that I could either have all the Coke I wanted but no food, or all the food I wanted but no Coke, I'd seriously consider going with the soda. Though I'm not a big sugar-eater in general (ice cream, cake, cookies, etc. don't do much for me), this one's going to be tough I think. I've read lots of posts indicating I cannot have sugared sodas post-op. I have a couple questions. - Is soda prohibited because it will interfere with weight loss (due to 100% sugar absorption), or is there some other gastric/digestive reason? - Are there any heavy soda-drinkers out there who basically lost interest in soda post-op? I think this would be the ideal, if I was to just not care for it, as I hear is often the case with sugars in general (ice cream, etc.). - Anyone out there " cheat " on the soda issue and still lose weight? Thanks much for any insight on my dilemma. --Randy
