Guest guest Posted June 10, 2005 Report Share Posted June 10, 2005 Your endo is a smart one! Bone-age x-rays prior to 2 years old have an error rate that makes them completely unreliable. Even from 2 yrs to about 4 yrs, they are still quite unreliable, as the standard error is quite high. Re the stim test, your endo is right on. NO stim test, SGA diagnosis doesn't require one. Now, your insurance may demand one, and you can go from there. But it is better not to get one without be required, because most RSS and SGA kids are GH insufficient not deficient, and will test within the normal range on the stim test.
