Guest guest
Hi Everyone! We havent been here in awhile. Elijah just turned 2 in late March. The short version explaining our absence is that we lost everything to Hurricane Katrina in August before leaving Ocean Springs, MS. We were displaced for 3 months before finally flying out of Orlando FL to move to Hawaii. (Hubby is Navy). We got settled in and started seeing Dr Burkhalter at Tripler AMC. Elijah's foot was looking great (he's RCF atypical w/ 2 tenotomies) but he'd lost some dorsiflexion. Burkhalter casted for 6 wks, 3 casts for 2 wks each. At the end, we went into a new set of Markell's. Elijah isnt staying in the Markell's. Its mostly because he can now untie them and slip out. No matter how hard I TRIPLE knot them and no matter what I put over the laces and buckles to keep him from taking them off, Houdini manages to get out of them. I have a phone consult in for the Doc to call me back and Im going to discuss getting the P/M's sandels. I was happy to hear that Tricare is now paying for the new shoes and would appreciate any and all billing information. Thanks to all of you that pioneered the way in getting Tricare to see the medical necessity of the shoes! Youre all my heroes!~~
