Guest guest
It's the shoes and bar. I am not sure if it is the same. Does anyone know? I will check out the pics under Kori's tips. Thanks so much for your quick response. Measure the shoulders- from outer point to outer point (I have a sewing measuring tape- works great). Then measure the brace from the screws in the center of the heel of the shoes on the bottom). They should be the same. Is your Dr saying to have the brace 1 " longer than the shoulder width? I would just experiment with it and see what works best for your son. I know some on here like it 1 " longer, my son likes it even. In Kori's tips document there is a pic of how to measure just by holding the brace up to the shoulders- but I'm really anal so I bust out the measuring tape. Guest guest
Hi Kim, an easy way to measure the bar is to lie it on the floor soles down and then lay baby in between the shoes at shoulder level (also on the floor) and see if he fits. not too tight, not too loose. his shoulders should just fit between the heels. the instructions say to measure screw to screw with the Ponseti/Mitchel FAB (PM's for short). We as parents have found that most babes are comfortable at heel to heel (insides). Sometimes even that small difference between screw to screw and heel to heel makes all the world of difference in comfort. Your child may be either or, just see what works for you and your baby by adjusting and giving a little time (sleep time will be your telling time, awake they usually don't complain much if it's a little off) to see what is most comfortable. hth, Kori (gah, I soooo need to get the PM tips done huh?)
