Guest guest
Be sure to keep telling your mom this. I think my mom feels badly too whenever I talk about Sammy's treatment (although she never says anything). I have told her several times that this method was just not really recognized in the 60's & 70's, people would have been VERY lucky indeed to have known about the Ponseti method and treated with it outside of U of I. The big thing in those days was the PMR as it was just being pioneered by Dr. Turco at the time. Heck, it's only just in the last 5 years that the P method has become what you could consider " mainstream " . More doctors are getting trained in the method all the time, it's just a matter of finding the ones who are doing it correctly, without tweaking it, and who have enough experience to really know what they are doing. I have to laugh at my Ortho now, he said my foot looks " really good " for a clubfoot. I said it doesn't feel really good and he should see my son's foot if he wants to see what really good REALLY looks like! > > > > Gretchen, > > I don't have a lot of details myself, but here's what I've pieced > > together from my mom and my knowledge now.
