Guest guest
Hey Kathy, Weight-for-height is just another chart like the weight chart with the percentage lines, or the height chart. On one axis of the graph is weight, and on the other is height. This gives you the ratio between the child's weight and height. Does that make sense??? Dr H was very upset at how chunky had become. Once he got healthier, his weight gain just took off! For the last two conventions, he was sitting solidly on the 50% line on the weight-for-height chart. Dr H was upset, because 's blood tests show that he is in premature adrenarche, and has insulin resistance, and the only way to treat these two conditions at 2.5 and under is for him to maintain his weight and grow into it. I don't think Dr H will be unhappy this year though. 's been sick much more often again, and his weight is way down. He's fluxuating between the 5% line and off the bottom of the weight-for-height chart now. We'll be getting his most recent blood test results on July 13th, so hopefully things will have improved there too!
