Guest guest
Took Lily to see Dr. Schwend today. He said her foot looks fantastic. Her score actually dropped from a 0.5 (where it had been since her tenotomy cast came off last May) to a 0.0! Anyway, my question for you folks is about the duration between checkups. He said we don't need to come back for a year unless we suspect she's having a relapse (which I'm sure I will every month or two, lol). Is that durantion between visits normal? I guess I was expecting him to say six months, max. So it looks like he'll be relying on us to use our judgement about reducing her hours in the FAB once she starts walking (probably a few months down the road). I've always been more strict about the bracing protocol than he advises (although he defers to me & often asks me what Ponseti's latest advice is - what a riot; this group makes us more expert than the docs). So how frequently do your kiddoes who are passed the one year mark get checkups? Thanks!
