Guest guest
Hi all, I talked to last night on the phone and Savannah is still the same. She is on 24 hr dialysis right now and her " coma " is drug induced so that her body could rest. They are hoping to be able to take her off dialysis soon to see if her kidneys will be able to function on their own. They still don't know what caused the swelling of her brain, they say that they don't think that it is secondary to her toxicity from the tobramyacin, it's just kind of a wait and see thing. I just thought that I would update you all on this since so many have sent kind words and lots of prayers for Savannah and her family. As always, once I learn more I will let you all know. Guest guest
I am so happy to hear some positive news & reports for Savannah . YEAh.. Get better even sooner now. LOVE & HUGS with oodles of great special thoughts, GrandmomBEV Savannah I just want to take this time to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who prayed, thought about, sent a card and checked up on us. Savannah is resting comfortably at home now. She went back to the doctors last night so it will be a couple of days before I get any results back on her blood work. At this time the only CF meds she is on are her breathing treatments and one inhaler. Her doctor said it will probably be six months before she is back to taking everything. Now we have to go and get a hearing test done. Savannah still sleeps a lot and her balance is still off. Also her joints really are bothering her. She cannot take Advil now (it goes through your kidneys) and Tylenol isn't helping. Also she is still having trouble with short term memory things. Savannah cries at the smallest things too. It some ways she has changed but who wouldn't after everything she has gone through. I'll be on line to check my mail but my responses will be few and far between until Savannah is a lot better. Oh, If you sent a card to St. 's before we transferred to St. Francis they did forward them to our home. Thanks again.
