Guest guest
Well, there are jusst lots of gram-negative rods, and if the culture out only ONE, they may label that one even though many others are growing, too, but have not been identified. It depends on the method, the agar, the length of time. Most people whom I personally know wcf grow several gram negative and several gram positive " bugs " if the cultures are done well and allowed to grow out long enough. But that its only ONE view of it. I could send you a beig, long link on it, but I think that that is about the short of it. Love to all of you, and a great new year! n need help with culture results > ------culture results------- > > heavy growth of staphylococcus aureus > Resistance due to probable acquired beta lactamase. > Beta-lactamase resistant penicillins and penicillin inhibitor combinations > usually remain active. > heavy growth Gram-negative rods, Haemophilus-like > heavy growth Gram-negative rods ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice.
