Guest guest
Donna, when it's really bad is when the doctor has it in your head that you are lying and just trying to get drugs. there is one doctor at my local ER that absolutely refuses to give me pain medicine. the last time I went there when he was working, my pcp told him to give me 100 mg demerol and 50 mg phenergan. He gave me a shot of phenergan and told me he would give me something for stomach spasms. I told him I didn't have any friggin' stomach spasms. He said, well, I talked to Dr. boone (my pcp) and we both agree that you have the flu. If you don't want anything for the stomach spasms, I'll just give you phenergan. They gave me the shot of phenergan and I left. My stepdad was so mad he called my pcp. My pcp was furious because he said he told the ER doc to give me demerol and phenergan and the flu was never even mentioned! This was in July and I don't know anyone around here who got the flu during July! My pcp told me to NEVER go to the ER again when that doctor is there. I have even filed a complaint against him and the hospital with JCAHO, but it didn't do any good. My pcp says he just has it in his head that there is nothing wrong with me and I just want drugs. The first time he was such a jerk to me, I lost my temper and told the nurse that I wouldn't wish an attack of acute panc on my worst enemy, but I hoped and prayed that Dr. Treimer would have a horrible attack so he could see whether or not he could stand it without pain med!
