Guest guest
Hi all, I know that this topic has been discussed before and I didn't save it under my favorites. (sorry) But I am having elective surgery in september and I need to know what drugs that can cause pancreatitis. I tried to search the top5plus5 web-site but I couldn't find such a list. Am I looking in the wrong place?? I would appreciate it if someone could please list them for me again. Thank you in advance. Kris, This is a partial list. If I can find the others, I will send them along, too. According to the Adverse Drug Reaction Bulletin,April 1994 and the CurrentProblems in Pharmacovigilance Vol 20: 2-3; NEJM1994: 1198.. " Other drugs associated with acute pancreatitis include, aspirin, azathioprine, cimetidine(Tagamet), didanosine, erythromycin, frusemide, methyldopa, metronidasole, nitrofurantoin, oestrogens, paracetamol, pentamidine, rantidine (Zantac),sodium valproate, sulindac, sulponamides, tetracyclines and thiazide (ide) diuretics. " Some others known are: Zithromax and Zocor. Hope this helps. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
