New member trying to get help

My name is aimee-30 yr old female w/chronic pancreatitis- I live in

Louisiana. no dr's r too familiar with what to do with me or the pain.

I had an ERCP that confirmed diagnosis & my Lipase elevates a little when

in pain. Anyway, I am currently in Texas at the Methodist Hospital

for pain control- attack lasted over 1 wk b4 I flew to here. Anyway,

If anyone can suggest where in the world I can go to be treated for

this horrible debilitating disease. Your kindness is appreciated!

Hi Aimie,

Although I do not have personal experience with this group, the

one doctor that seems to get the most and highest

recommendations in Dr Lehman at the Indianopolis University. I

am sure that someone who has seen him will be able to supply

you with more information. Or you can link to him and his group

through this board. Word of mouth is the best way to find a

doctor who is knowledgable about pancreatitis....most doctors,

and even some GIs who specialize in pancreas diseases, are

not that familiar with all the subtleties of chronic pancreatitis. So

you are doing the right thing by asking around!
