Guest guest
Hi there, I hope you're doing better, in body and mind. I have been in more pain the past few days along with nausea and runny stools. Thinking it might be the panc playing up, I just waited for it to get worse, but it never got to the stage it used to..then yesterday, I started to get bad pains where we found that " lump " under my previous surgical scar from last March. I didn't take any pain meds for it because I wanted to be able to take to Kindermusik today. Well, lo and behold, I woke up around 4.30am this morning in worse pain, so got up and went on the computer until it was time to get ready. When I went to get dressed, I noticed a bruise on my abdomen where it was hurting me so much. That set off my panic mode, and I rang the on call doctor. He told me to come in this afternoon and see my surgeon. I got my hubby to take me down in case they gave me pain medicine and/or admitted me. There are 3 tumours that have regrown. One where the pain is, a small one at the other end of the scar area, and a golfsized tumour of some sort on my right kidney that has to go. Surgery is set for next Thursday, 2nd September. My belly is going to look like a roadmap for sure now. He said that I will be cut from below my right breast, across to the back diagonally. He isn't sure if he'll be able to find the small tumour because it is so small, and that might have to be a case of waiting for it to grow and then cut it out. I will be losing a substantial amount of abdominal muscle, so will be more prone to hernias, therefore I will have to be careful with lifting things etc. He mentioned a light chemo called Gleevec, but I told him that the MD docs told me I wasn't a candidate for Gleevec. So surgery is my only option, and he said a definite no to radiation for prevention of further ones also, telling me that chances are that won't stop more from growing and would only make further surgeries more difficult... Well, will have to go lay down for a while..took some percocet an hour ago, and it's making me lightheaded...catch you later,
