Guest guest
Were exactly half way through these IV's. On the home stretch now. As usual her cough has gone by the 2nd day but they are not letting her stop them early like last time as we don't want to be back on them next month. She came to work with me yesterday. I don't know what its like in other countries but here I am responsible for her and she must stay with me except like this morning when took her to the physio (who meets us at my mums) and then she's back with me. We stayed at work for 6 hours and the physio met us there. Luckily I work in the medical field and have been there 18 years so my boss is a angel. 6 hours in s surgery with Eilish who was bored nearly sent me stir crazy, but we survived. Tomorrow she has review at the hsp. which is tob. levels etc. Looking forward to sleeping in. (Australia)

Guest guest
GOllllleeeeeee, I don't know if I could stay content doing that 6 hours either. She was a doll for that. What do you do at the medical office? It sounds like you must do it VERY well to be there 18 years & be able to take off as needed. ANywayyyy, I am glad its almost done & she must be feeling better . It sure beats being in the club that long with a wee one. It is also so nice how you & work all the needs out & each does his part. That makes all tasks so much nicer . I hope your still enjoying your weather & getting a good start for the 2004 new year. take care.......... LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEV eilish update Were exactly half way through these IV's. Guest guest
Oh my GOSH!!! , that is terrible!!! I am so glad your going home now. I had no idea. ....Thank heavens you have another hospital to go with her another time. Like you said. you can see the clinic BUT they admission can be closer & one you will be treated well at. I am VERY surprised the doctor didn't get upset . .....It does make a difference to have them together like that. I am so sorry you had to go thru this. I hope she stays well here on . LOVE & HUGS, to you all GrandmomBEV Eilish update Hi everyone, I can truly say this is the admission from hell. So many things went wrong its all swimming in my head. Firstly Eilish and I have spent 14 days in a bay with 10 other kids. None of them had cf but the noise was the same. Then two 7 foot strips of tiles fell of the bathroom wall and onto Eilish's foot - not hurt. Had a meeting with the head of nursing who printed me of the Cf Protocol which states that cfers are not to be given a separate room unless there is other cfers in the ward who have PA. So we got no where there. Oh there is so much more my heads spinning. We have told them we will now have all our admission in a hospital closer to our home. It doesn't;t have a cf centre attached but she's only there for IV's, we will still attend the clinic at the other place. I had so many times where all I could do was cry with the frustration of it all. I know we could have taken her home but she is on the eradication of PA programme and that would not have benefited Eilish. Then this morning two cf patients who are category 5 (PA multi resistant) were brought into the bay for review which meant just for the day. We then got the infection control people involved who said as long as they were as far apart as possible and didn't play together all would be well. So I took her out and spent the day walking the streets just to keep her safe. I could tell by the way the staff treated me that we are now labelled trouble makers as they were always on the defensive and cold to us. Anyway tomorrow she is home and this nightmare finishes.
