Hi, My name is Janice and I'm a new member to the posting (so I hope

this works) I'm not for sure what I'm doing yet. I have been reading

everybodys messages that I get in my inbox for some time and have

really enjoyed reading them and have learned alot, although I hate

to hear what a bad time everybody has had in this awful disease. I

have had it since May 2000 and it's been history since. I've had

numberous ERCP's and the surgery where they cut the bile duct to

make it bigger, so that it can drain. I have pancreas divisum. I was

in the hospital 6 times this year already. 5 times in April & May I

was in there every week for 5 weeks in a row. They would put me on

IV's and the usual no eating or drinking and my enzymes would go

back down in a few days and I would go home and end up back in there

the next week. My dr. couldn't figure out what was going on, so she

ordered a CT and found I had a blockage in the bile duct. She sent

me to in St Louis, MO. where my dr. there performed a ERCP

and put a stent in for 2 weeks and then I had to go back and take it

out June 1. I've had hardly any pain since then, some nausea

sometimes though. So I hope this lasts for a long time. My dr. said

I have grade 4-5 moderately severe chronic pancreatitis though and

it will come back, he just doesn't know when. What I was wondering

do you ever get cured, since he said it will come back. I think I

understand that the bile duct will get clogged up again and it won't

drain and that's when it will come back. So is it just a matter of

having another ERCP and unclogging it again. It looks like they

could develop some kind of stent to leave in there so it won't get

clogged up again. Has anybody ever heard of that kind of stent? Also

I would appreciate in some new recipes if anybody has any good

LOWFAT recipes. I am on 20-25 grams of fat a day and it is hard. I

really get tired of chicken and turkey and fish. I look forward to

hearing from you and wish everybody lots of pain free days to come.

Thank You All & God Bless

Janice
