Guest guest
Kris, I added a list of the medications associated with causing pancreatitis to the list of files on the yahoo site. I researched the list with the PDR, drug book, as the list I had was beginning to grow and I wasn't clear as to the accuracy of the list. There are two lists; 1) those that are definitely associated with causing Pancreatitis and 2) those that are 'probably' associated with doing so. The second list did not have Pancreatitis listed as an adverse reaction, but did have many others that would result in a high risk for developing pancreatitis. The medications in the first list have Pancreatitis listed in lower case bold italic type, indicating that it is a life-threatening, but uncommon, reaction. I did not locate any medications that listed Pancreatitis as a common and life-threatening reaction. This list is certainly not complete nor all inclusive. We can build on this. I would also be interested to hear about any personal experiences anyone may have had in regard to having iatrogenic, or medication induced, pancreatitis. The literature states that this accounts for 5% of the cases. Hmmm?
