Thank you Heidi,

I appreciate the information you have given me. I

found out today from my GI doctor's nurse that I have

a cyst. She said they should clear up on their own

and they usually contain fluid similar to or water.

From what I have read they talk about having a cyst

for 4 to 6 weeks is common after an acute attack.

All my best to you and the group,

,

Pseudocysts aren't necessarily " common " , they only appear in about 10% of

patients who have an acute pancreatitis attack. The smaller ones normally

DO resolve within a few weeks, yet those that are larger than 2 cm. can often

stick around much longer. Apparently yours is small and of minor concern.

It's when they are as large as mine that complications can set in. Mine are

about 4 x 5 cm. and 6 x 4 cm. and I've had them now for over three years. For

some darn reason they just refuse to resolve! I've been fortunate to have no

complications with them, such as a rupture. The only trouble they cause is the

severe pain they bring when they're inflamed, which is of the intensity that it

mimics an acute attack and is enough to require hospitalization. The rest of

the time their presence causes a consistent enough daily pain to require

moderately high analgesic medication on a 24/7 basis.

I hope that yours resolves itself naturally and never causes you any difficulty.

With love, hope and prayers,

Heidi
