Guest guest
Hope everyone is having a decent day. Was determined that I did snap the MCL and tore the PCL. They can usually get them to heal without surgery. " Oh thank you doc " You must do certain exercises to get it to mend back together and they will reevalute in 10 days to see if it is mending then the final decision will be made on if I need surgery. SO I have been working it faithfully and now I have increased swelling/pain. My bruise (behind my knee) is still growing and the lower legs aches alot today. Don't think the physical therapy is such a good idea since obviously it is still bleeding. The Md I saw was a young one and probably never dealt with a heart valve/coumadin patient before. So today when I see him we will have lesson Coumadin 101. They must keep the leg elevated, only getting up for potty breaks, icing 20 minutes on/20 minutes off until the bleed stops and for several days after that. Then you can begin physical therapy. IF you work it while bleeding it will never heal. Last time with the tendon snap they screwed around for over a week with this and it got to a point where it was complete bed rest-2 weeks. Compartment sydrome developed. Don't have time for that. So I will also probably not take any coumadin tonight either. My cardioligist is off today, but he would do it too. He did it the last time with the tendon. He has already cut it to 1/2 doses. I will call him tomorrow am and tell him that the new primary care Md is on the job. Dr. . LOL. I will still find a new PCP when things settle down. The pancreas? Fever coming back, slowly. Am suppose to report if/when it hits 101. Then IV antibiotics are the plan. Still absolutely no pain and eating well. So I keep my fingers crossed on that one too. Talk to you soon. Love, W
