Guest guest
I only know that cooked apples and ripe bananas tend to be somewhat " binding " . I was not aware that broccoli and cauliflower caused constipation. That has not been my experience. Patti Constipating fruits/vegetables Hi, Is there somewhere I can find a list of which fruits/vegetables or any food for that matter causes constipation? I now know that bananas, cauliflour and brocolli do but want to be able to eliminate all constipating foods. Thanks, Tumpa Reinhardt To the world you may be one person, to one person you are the world~Anonymous

Moderators are the most reliable sources of information, but I did learn this through some Internet research. http://www.med.umich.edu/1libr/pa/pa_constipa_hhg.htm Constipation is often due to a diet that does not include enough fiber. . Some examples are prunes, figs, dates, raisins, bananas, apples, peaches, pears, apricots, beans, peas, cauliflower, broccoli, and cabbage Make sure that your child eats fruits or vegetables at least 3 times a day. Some of the aforementioned foods are only for those who are advanced. Dairy can also be constipating: Carol F. SCD 7 years, celiac

All of those foods listed except for cooked peaches, pears, cauliflower and broccoli, cause terrible constipation for me. I know without a doubt that if I eat even a cooked apple or prune, I will not have a bowel movement the next day. Strange but true.
