Guest guest
HELP! I got my approval today from Barbara! She has offered two date choices. One at Durham General and one choice at . The dates look better for my personal schedule. Any problems with ? Then there's the Insurance Company. I've got Goodyear Insurance. Today they tell me they need 6 consecutive months of a Doctor Supervised Weight loss program. Then, this six months has to be within the last two years. Well, I've been going to Doctors for the last 10 years trying everything under the sun to loose weight. But, I don't have 6 consecutive months within the last two years. The Insurance woman said I should just start now and I'd be eligible in 6 more months. So, this afternoon I wrote them a letter asking that they waive this requirement. I have 7 months where I saw a Dr. 5 times just a little over two years ago and included that documentation. But, I was really just trying to explain that Neither Goodyear nor I gain anything by my waiting another 6 months. It's six more months of Dr. Bills for them and six more months of poor health for me. I explained that if I hadn't managed to loose this weight in the last ten years, odds were it wouldn't come off in the next six months either. And, even if I lost some weight, I'd need to loose over 50 lbs. to no longer be considered Morbidly Obese. So, does anyone think they will waive this requirement? Has anyone had a similar situation? I found two women who had Goodyear pay for their surgery (RNY) without this requirement but both were over two years ago. Do you think this is worth mentioning to the Insurance Woman? With this insurance complication I can't even get excited about being approved by Dr. R! HELP! Barbara in Tennessee Pre-Op
