Guest guest
Well, I had my routine doctor appt with my primary care doctor on Friday and he had me do some routime blood tests to just check up on my general health, etc. I got a call today and evidently, my thyroid is on the low side. They've been checking my thyroid every six months for about 10 years now because I have a somewhat thick neck and that can be one of the signs of thyroid problems. So, I guess I've now got them. Until now, all my thyroid tests have been normal. Now I know why I can't lose any weight these days. Just a general complaint that everytime I see the doctor, I tend to walk away with another medication. -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@... Guest guest
Sandy, I checked this with the dictionary: the word hypo means low, ie. hypoglycemia reaction is low blood sugar. Hyper is for high, ie. hyperglycemia is high blood sugar. Sorry, don't mean to contradict, but I also looked up HYPOthyroid on the net and it was listed as LOW thyroid and HYPERthyroid is HIGH thyroid. I just got the news from my doctors office, but I didn't speak to my doctor directly, only a nurse and like an idiot, I forgot to ask the test values. I'll know once I get the letter with the test results on it. My doctor always sends me a letter listing all the tests he took and what the test values were. I'll let you know what my values once I get that letter (if I remember, since my memory is like swiss cheese these days, all full of holes). Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
