Guest guest
Hi Eileen We don't have much verity. Lots of squash burgers , green beans, mangoes ,bananas and pearsaus to sweeten things with I have even used cooked mango to sweeten things. We make nut muffins without eggs and sweeten with fruit and put some squash it it to help it hold to get her. I don't think he does real well with it yet so we dint do it very often. He also eats any kind of meet but prefers the burgers which i feel better about there is so much squash in it they are orange. We had to build up to that but now he won't eat it any other way. I make soup and blend up all the ingredients so he doesn't have to feel them in his mouth he hates it I have him drink 1/4 cup at at a time it seems to do wonders for his bowl es. I know this is not what you wee hoping for nothing fun to eat but it takes time I am seeing the progres when I go back through the diary I see we have came a long ways. MY son has huge texture issues so we lack verity but are making progress. If I can stress any thing it would be not to eat any thing raw If it takes a year for us to get to raw fruit I am ok with it I don't like it it makes it very hard but I am seeing progress. My daughter is also on this diet she can eat a little more she can have tomatoes which makes it hard be case I have to make it for her when he brother is gone. Any ways hope this helps eptak1 wrote: Hi . Uh oh--it sounds like we're making a lot of mistakes, too. After a few days on the intro diet, I jumped right into more advanced foods for everyone. I thought it would be okay since we didn't have diahrea or anything like that, but I guess I was wrong. It seems like half the recipes have honey in them. What do you eat? I'm going to try to sweeten with pear sauce, like Patti recommended. On the upside, I am feeling more energetic! :-) Eileen > Ilene, > For yourself, increased gas and so forth is more than likely due to die off. As the bad pathogens are leaving the body, they will give off an increase of toxins. Are you using an SCD legal probiotic? It is very important to be providing the gut with the necessary good flora to replace the bad as it dies off. I would suspect that the eczema is also contributed to die off, but I can't say for sure. I have discovered in the past week that eczema is allergy related(sensitivity may be more appropriate terminology), but it can be food, environmental, or both. My toddler broke out with eczema almost a year ago. It started out mild, got increasingly worse, then began to improve when we removed grains. He recently broke out in a horrible case of it all over his body, and no food changes had been made. I then found out that it can be environmentally related as well through a lady who told me that they discovered their son's eczema was triggered by carpet cleaners. I realized that my > son's eczema has never been on his face, his diaper area, or ahdns. These are places where clothing never touches him. I switched to Dreft, and rewashed all of his clothing and bedding in it. The eczema started to clear up. It is almost gone now. I was telling this to a friend who is a pediatric nurse. She said that she recommends parents use All Clear rather than Dreft is they're trying to determin an eczema trigger because Dreft does still have some perfuming agents in it. Remember too, that her eczema may not be triggered by the wheat, grains, sugars, ect. I could be triggered by an SCD legal food that her body just doesn't tolerate right now. She may never tolerate it, or she may heal to the point of being able to ingest it some day. That's why it is so important to keep a food journal of what she eats, her bowel habits, eczema, ect. Hopefully, you can find the trigger for her. I really don't know what to say about the honey situation, but a more experienced SCDer can > help with that. > Meleah > Newbie with a million questions.
