Guest guest
I haven't had personal experience with DMSA, but I have a friend who has a nearly 5yr. old son. is considered recovered at this point. They used GF/CF instead of SCD, DMSA, HBOT, and some other stuff. Beth was very happy with the DMSA. I believe you are right that you use one sapository per day for three days, and then take a break for 11 days. We use DMPS, and have been very happy with the results that our son has had thus far. It has made an incredible difference for him just as HBOT has. We would've never gotten these results without SCD. We have never had to use a prescription antifungal all this time even though we've been using DMPS for six months now. I'd encourage you to not just jump right in with the prescription antifungal. See how it goes. if he has a healthy enough gut, you may not need it. Try a natural antifungal before you try the prescription because most parents rebound that the yeast comes back with a vengence when you stop the prescription antifungals. You end up combatting super yeast each time you do this, and it gets more difficult every time to get it under control. We haven't even needed the antifungals(natural) at all. However, I've been really cautious about food introductions as well. I haven't given him dried fruits yet, and we're cautiously beginning to try some raw fruits(pears and apples). We haven't done any raw veggies yet because they're so crunchy. I think it would be a good idea for you to hold off on the raisins and any other dried fruits that you've given him for a while if you're going to start chelating. I'd stick to all cooked for the first couple of months in chelation mode. That's just my opinion based on my experience. Meleeah dmsa suppositories i ordered the dmsa suppositories and we have a jug of legal nystatin. i still haven't gotten the exact protocol from the doc yet but i gather we are to give my 3 yr old 3 suppositories/day for a few days, then wait for 8 or 11 days then start again. i will give him nystatin throughout to keep the yeast under control. we have to bag his first urine to test for heavy metals as this will be the guage for future tests. has anyone had experience with dmsa and seen good results? my boy has been on scd since mid sept06 (5 mos) and is still a limited picky eater but is doing sooooo well physically and he is out of his fog so i feel his gutt is healing. he has had firm stools since the 3rd day we put him on scd.
