Guest guest
Hi Bob, I'm sorry the going is so rough for you. I know it can get very frustrating. I hope they find the problem. Are you in pain? Nauseous? Having frequent attacks? Foodless holiday for me. I had a PICC since beginning of November and have been on TPN. Two weeks ago, I got a gram negative infection and was hospitalized for sepsis for a week and then got a nasty bowel infection from the hospital. Geez. Now, I have a hickman catheter and am still NPO. My GI has contacted a specialist in Florida. I am waiting to see when to go down since no one knows why I can't eat and am in constant pain. The CT scan showed no pseudocysts or blockage--only atrophic pancreas. By the way, I have lost 75 pounds since being diagnosed 2 years ago. This is the first time in my life the doctors have ever said that they don't want me to lose any more weight. Everyone says I look great and it does not look like I am sick. I often say what does sick look like. I don't like it when people call me sick. It has a stigma to it. I feel like I should frail and pale and I am not. There may be days that I am, but for the most part I am not. I think the Retin A helps (chuckle). Well, I am going to close now and go up and make dinner. I love to cook and bake and made gourmet cookies for my doctors and other friends at Christmas. It wasn't the cookies that bothered me. It was the turkey and dressing. I have decided that when I can eat again, I am having a party and asking everyone to please bring food and I AM HAVING TURKEY AND DRESSING. Let me know how you are doing periodically and I will follow up with you on the 31st if not sooner. Pat
