Guest guest
Dear , How do I go about changing doctors when they are at the same hospital? Do I just call Dr. Weiner and schedule an appointment? I am a little uncomfortable doing this. But her doctor was so rude that I can't go back. I know you are really confident and smart. Guest guest
Hi , When you call to schedule the appointment, just tell them that you would like to see Dr. Weiner rather than the other doc. They shouldn't ask why but if they do just say " we will not be seeing him for a while. " They probably will wonder but most of the clinic staff (other than Dr. Weiner) do not need to know why you are changing doctors. It shouldn't be a big deal. For a while I had to specifically ask to not have to speak to a certain fellow. I always found him condescending. When he told me that " kids with CF DO get colds you know " when was little and coughing so hard that she was throwing up green mucus. I told him " yes but they do not normally throw up green mucus. If you are unwilling to help I will put a call in to Dr. Weiner on Monday " (it was a Sunday afternoon) Needless to say that when they heard what was going on, she was admitted immediately. That fellow is no longer a just fellow there he is running a study. Thankfully he has grown up and actually listens to patients & parents now!
