Guest guest
Sweet potatoes and turnips are not legal on SCD. Please refer to your book, Breaking the Vicious Cycle, by Elaine Gottschall. All the squashes are legal and you may use them now. If your son has severe bloating, I suspect there is something that's not quite right. Are you sure he eating all legal foods? Are you serving only peeled and cooked fruits and vegetables at this point? Are all of his supplements completely legal? Patti are sweet pot, turnips, squash ok if having normal BM I have been doing the diet for about 2 months with my 10 yr old ASD son. He has normal BM's but has severe bloating. Guest guest
Hello, On the supplements note. I was giving my son amino acid supplements, about 6 capsules a day and I looked at the ingredients about 3 or so days ago and there was rice flour in it. I immediately stopped giving them to him and his BM's look wonderful! (this is a subjective opinion ofcourse). Guest guest
It's amazing how one seemingly " small " infraction can make such a huge difference on this diet. It's a good reminder to all of us to check and re-check all of our supplements and make sure EVERYTHING we're giving our kids is 100% unquestionably legal. It really can make all the difference in the world. I'm glad you pulled this supplement out, . Patti Re: Re: are sweet pot, turnips, squash ok if having normal BM Hello, On the supplements note. Guest guest
Kerry, This bounced when I tried to reply to you privately. So I have no choice but to repost it to the list, in hopes that you'll get it: Kerry, Please post replies through the list. You might want to give us an idea of what he's eating and what his supplements are, so we can try to help you figure out the bloating. That really should be getting better on SCD. There could be something we could help you with. .... but do post it through the list, not to me privately. I don't always check my other inbox every day.
