Guest guest
I am a lurking hopeful. I agree that TUMS leaves a metallic taste in your mouth. I have never been fond of them. However, I seem to eat enough stuff that I need them constantly. Any chewable antacid leaves a bad taste in my mouth. PS I need contacts...anyone help? I think it is the TUMs. I stopped taking the TUMS for a while and it went away. I started back on them and it came back? But that is just speculation on my part. I have no real clue? Guest guest
I have read that several of you have had the metallic taste in your mouth. What is this? Is there a reason? I haven't seen talk of this on the mgb site but I will continue to look if no one can answer.. Thanks, in Ga
Guest guest
Hi , There are two possibilities....the Carafate and the Actigall. I didn't experience any metallic taste but some people do. Guest guest
It signals the beginning of thrush (thrash? not sure which it is), which is a yeast infection in the mouth--babies get it also, so if you're a mom, you're probably familiar with it. My advice: don't ignore it. I tend to not go to the doctor unless I'm REALLY SICK. I ended up with the back of my throat & the roof of my mouth blood red and VERY tender--and it wasn't necessary, if I had just gone to the MD when I noticed the strange taste and the strange look of my tongue! It happens fairly frequently after surgery, and is apparently due to the tube they have to put down your throat. Go to the doc!
Guest guest
, The metallic taste is from the Actigal medication that you start taking two weeks after surgery. Hope this helps. Tracie
