Dr. Buckner checkup

Hi Everyone: I decided that I had better write first and read later or I will

never write at all. It's difficult for me to get through so many emails, and I

usually have to give up and delete. My eyes just don't hold up. I had a very

nice checkup with Dr. Buckner as usual, and as I had little to complain about I

decided to use my time and ask her how she happened to get into RP research.

She said that she had been interested in rheumatoid arthritis ever since she was

in med school. Later, her brother-in-law developed RP and asked for her help

and that's when she decided to specialize in this disease. As many of you know,

she had worked in internal medicine in Minneapolis, and then followed with a

Fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Washington in 1995. She joined

Virginia Mason in 1994. She has been practicing medicine since 1987 when she

graduated from s Hopkins Medical School. So, essentially she got into this

specialty for family reasons.

As for me, I have been wired up with a 30-day monitor to find out why I have

been bothered with so much arrhythmia. I'll never last for 30 days though, and

my internist here said that's OK. Just do it for a while. For one thing, I

refuse to be seen in public with this although it can be hidden. It's just that

it makes a recording sound for one minute, and I can imagine the stares I would

get. I think my eyes are getting under better control. I still can't read very

much at a time, and that really bothers me, but I am coping with it OK. My best

to ALL. Love, Dagny

Dagny, thanks for all the information on Dr. B. I wish we could all have her as our doctor.

I had that monitor for a month. I know it isn't fun. Is it the one that you have to call in any pains? Boy I remember my insurance had a mix up and they weren't going to pay for it. It was in the thousands $$ . Well I straightened them out.LOL

I hope all is fine on the report and a month will fly by. You take care and let us know what you find out.

Sending lots of huts
