Can you find these resources for me as well? We live in North

Atlanta (GA). Email me, and I can tell you specifically where...I

don't want to do that here. I really need some local help and

support. Thanks much - valerie

Welcome to the group Sharyn,

<< My son is 5 years old.... is on a strict yeast-free, sugarfree,

perservative free, phenol free, gluten free, and casein free diet.

My son has been on this diet for about 2 months now and for snacks

he eats 1 pear a day and 2-3 rice cakes. The more I read the only

thing I need to remove to be 100% SCD would be rice and potatoes.

My son loves fruit but due to being phenol free and having yeast

issues he is very limited. I am very anxious to begin SCD 100% but

my only fear is finding a SCD legal snack to give him. >>

The good news is that pears are legal, though at the beginning if he

still has bowel issues we'd likely suggest peeled cooked pears

(pearsauce, pearsauce popsicles...). If the only way to get him on

the diet is to use raw pears, then go with those.

lemons are considered very low. My son can handle them and he is very sensitive.

Honey is very high. i know you didn't ask but with this diet if your child is

sensitive this is something to look at too. We use pear says to sweeten things

it is very low.
