Fellow MGB Pre-ops,

I am more of a lurker, mostly due to the fact that my time is limited and I

need to learn all I can by reading other's posts...which doesn't leave alot

of time for responding.

I am the office manager for a large dental office of about 20 employees and 3

doctors.

My office is one that offers a unique service that very few other's offer. We

are excellent at what we do, we hire only the best, most experienced people

to help us, because that's how we stay at the top and can continue to offer

something you can't get just anywhere. When we are short staffed, it

sometimes takes time to find someone qualified to fill a position. We can't

always predict when we are going to suddenly grow and need additional help.

Patients sometimes have to wait to see us, we don't like for that to happen.

But we also don't want to add staff that are not the best qualified to meet

their needs.

I say this because I really think that this is the situation with Dr R and

Barbara.

He is the only one offering this service. I'm sure he does not want any of us

to wait anymore than we want to wait. I'm also sure that he and Barbara are

probably entirely exhausted. Do I want to have my surgery yesterday? Of

course. But I've been in Barbara's shoes many times. You can only do so much!

And as for Dr R... he is the only one that can perform this surgery now, so

you have a few choices... either wait

or find someone else. I plan to wait. I don't think that making derogatory

(sp?) remarks about their not getting back with us is going to help. As far

as I can tell,

everyone's impatience just keeps making the list of things needed in the

packet longer and longer. So, I think we are only hurting ourselves to

constantly post about

them not doing things on " our " schedule. These two people are no doubt

running themselves ragged.... I think we should give them a break!!!!! Maybe

that way, they

won't keep adding onto packet requirements to keep from being bombarded with

more packets! (and phone calls, and posts and e-mails and.......)

I agree. I had been wondering if that's why things were being added to our

packets. Honestly, if people will just wait, it will probably help them to

get approved even sooner. It takes up Dr. R and Barbara's time answering the

phone and replying to " when am I going to be approved e-mails. " I plan on

taking your advise, Jenn. I think it good advise.
