Guest guest
did he have the hep b vaccine? > > Just to clarify for all: yes, without grains, is eating some more green and yellow veggies, but not that much. Years ago, before he was finally treated for hypothyroidism, that was one reason his pedi gave for not being concerned about his hands, feet and neck being very deep yellow, but his thyroid levels showed normal. Finally, after several years and his gradual deteriation, I began treating him myself with my Armour thyroid and even the teacher at school saw a big improvement. At that point, his pedi tested him and even with the Armour thyroid, his level was low normal, so he finally put him on it. When we went back to a grain diet, the yellow diminished. > > It is NOT just eating more green and yellow veggies. I guess I am posting this to see if anyone else has noted this for their kid. I have seen posts on other lists about this same thing. It seems to be assoc. with getting off grains (the first time he turned yellow, he was just gfcf and not grain free). Hope the genetics doc has heard about this and has some ideas. I don't think it is JUST hypothyroid because getting Armour thyroid & /or T3 should have corrected the problem. > > , mom to , age 18 ASD, SCD 9/06 > > > --------------------------------- > Don't pick lemons. > See all the new 2007 cars at Yahoo! Guest guest
Thanks so much for the comment about NuThera. I believe you are right. was doing better before we started NuThera. I have been concerned to give him a muti because he is also on methylB12. He is continuing to have constipation problems and I have tried removing all his foods at various times with no luck at improving the constipation for more than a day. I do believe I am battling yeast big time and today I returned to lots of antifungals (nutritional--garlic, cranberry, grapefruit seed extract). He seems somewhat better this morning since he has had those. This has been so discouraging because I am sold on the SCD, but although he has stopped chewing on everything and stopped drooling, we have been unable to make any progress and are still using just the most basic foods in the diet. I will remove the NuThera and see what happens. 3a. Guest guest
methyl b-12 is ok as an injection but orally it is a great yeast feeder, unlike cyano b-12 however cyano b-12 needs supproting minerals i have just read about wheat gliadin being a source of superoxide dismutase (SOD) which is a zinc/copper enzyme i have read over the years of kids doing better with wheat back in when you not expect it, so maybe they are really short of copper and zinc or have metaboism problems with them copper and zinc in the index of http://tinyurl.com/2csa3 > > Thanks so much for the comment about NuThera. Guest guest
My son's hand and feet turns yellow when ever he eats yellow vegies like carrot, squash etc... This was even when he was eating grains. My DAN doctor told that he probably is not breaking down carotene properly. Guest guest
I just purchased a bottle of B12 and it has methlcobalamin. I am curios as to the statement that it is a yeast feeder. Could you give me any more information to read about this as I wouldn't want to feed the yeast. Thank you > > > methyl b-12 is ok as an injection but orally it is a great yeast > feeder, unlike cyano b-12 > > however cyano b-12 needs supproting minerals >
Guest guest
I think it's like common sense to stay away from things that are yeast feeders if you have yeast problems. Many of us have experienced this and are trying to save some grief. This was the case for my dd and also for myself. Many forms & supplement fillers can cause problems.
