Guest guest
Hi All, I got another email from our dreaded friend today. She feels that this surgery is not the way to go for someone my age. Does anyone else in the group feel this way. I will be 18 on Nov. 13. I feel I am a great candidate because my BMI is 48. I would really like some input. I also need some more contacts. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Acoya in TN pre-op BMI
Guest guest
Dear Acoya, While I am 38 I do know what it is like to be fat in school. No dates, no party invitations, can't fit into the desks and breathe, not being able to participate in sports, not being able to shop in the junior department, the list goes on and on. I admire you for being able to make an informed decision at such a young age so you don't experience all the negative ramifications (both social and physical) of being fat. My only regret with this surgery is that I didn't find the site until now. If I had found it at your age I would have done it in a heartbeat. Keep up the work - it's worth it. Guest guest
Acoya, I think this surgery is a wonderful option for you. You are young and should handle the surgery well. I wish that I could have had something like this done when I was your age. I will be 31 next month and don't get me wrong, I'm still young but I can't imagine what my life would have been like the past 12 or so years if I could have had this surgery when I was your age. Just being able to go to the prom, going to college and walking around on campus, going out on dates. She's just trying to scare you. I know enough to be able to say that she is just twisting data and using other people's words out of context. She's probably jealous because she didn't have the opportunity to have this done when she was younger. Ignore her and live a good life, a healthy life, and a beautiful life. Guest guest
Can I say something about LT? Instead of worrying about what she has to say, which don't mean a hill of beans, why not just delete the e-mail from her and not even read or respond to it? She's accomplishing everything she wants to accomplish.... Doubt, concern, worry. Honestly, she don't bother me at all. I'm doing my own research and she isn't going to tell me what I should or should not do. My advise... Ignore her. Don't post messages about how worried you are that she's contacted you. Can't you see that's what she wants. Personally, I'm tired of hearing about her and reading about her. Sorry you all, to be so blunt, but isn't any of you tired of hearing about that ole witch. She obviously don't have anything better to do than to talk about our beloved doctor, but we've got better things to do than listen to her. Again, my advise is to quit posting concerns about things she's said on the board. It just encourages her. That's my thoughts on the matter. Next email that you receive that you don't even want to deal with, press that button, and away she goes, off into the spacedump! She only has the power that you allow her to have. Take care. Guest guest
Acoya, Sorry I haven't acknowledged your response, I am just now catching up on this weekends email, I haven't checked anything since Thursday. You are bound to have the ability to block her address somewhere in your email account. Otherwise, delete it. I know it is tough to have someone harassing you like that. She will probably continue to target you especially because you are younger and she figures she can get more of a response out of you. Don't let her. Show her that you are more mature than she is regardless of age and don't even give her the satisfaction of using any of your time to read, respond or reflect on any of her comments. I'm telling you girl, don't even open the demonic things. To be perfectly honest I find it interesting that she has not bothered to include me in her pre-op bombardment. I guess I should be glad. But I am not afraid of her words. Acoya, that is all they are and obviously they can't be trusted because only someone with a LOT of problems would continue to harass you. Be strong my friend and I will be here to support you all the way. Price pre-op 12-6-00 (closer and closer everyday) --- Acoya@... wrote: > Thanks Kim, > She contacted me again.
