Guest guest
Jo, there is no conclusive lab test for RP. The drs. always run a sed rate and for me a c-reactive protein. (if elevated, they show that there is inflammation somewhere). But we must remember that we are a strange bunch. LOL Some of us have been in a HUGE flare and have had a normal sed rate. So it just depends. If your sed rate was high, then you might have been in a flare. I think anything over 20 is elevated. My white blood cells are always high because of the pred. Prenisone will elevate your white blood cells. My last one was 19,000. Others may have some more input for you. I had a ear biopsy when I was in a flare and all it showed was inflamation... LOL I could have told them that. So, sad to say, but don't think there is a test that would definately dx RP. hugs
