Guest guest
Hi and the gang, My husband came to the doc with me for back up!!! No twisting was required. The doc wined about narcotics and addiction and so on and said I was too young to be spending my life on narcotics and how I should exercise. Yeah exercise =pain=sitting on the couch!!!! I did tell him that I'd go to the pool if he would send me to a massage therapist. He said go to the pool for a month and he'd make the referral. Yeah!!! I also got the "pain is all in the way you perceive it" lecture!!! Man I hate that!! I know I tolerate pain well. My husband has seen me move furniture on my own, I pushed my car to the side of the road when it broke down, Volvo's are really heavy and I continue to go on even when the pain is unbearable. It take a lot of pain to put this girl down. I don't think that the doc realizes how painful this disease really is. The doc said he had a bad back and didn't take any pain meds. I told him maybe my three back injuries may be contributing to mine!!!!! After all that he gave me a prescription for meperidine (demerol) for those really bad days. He said my sed rate was fine so my RP is dormant. Yeah right like how many times have we heard that one! Funny why he would want the metho to go back up if he thought that. He also put my Fibro med up. I put my pred up to 10mgs on the weekend due to a small nose flare and my pain is better today. The doc put me back on Tylenol 3, because I told him that the generic doesn't work. He said it's the same, I told him the pharmacist said it's not. When I had my prescriptions filled today, the pharmacist asked why he changed me from the Tylenol 3 was it because of the caffeine? I think that when my heart was beating fast the doc made the change but then we found out it was another med that was making my heart race and I was never put back. All in all I think it was a good visit at least he spent 40 minutes arguing with me so I got my money's worth!!! Well guess that's it. Hopefully the next few days will get better. Hope everyone is doing well or at least on the road to feeling better. Take care Elaine M
