It is highly recommend for everyone to start with two days of the Intro Diet,

even if they have no diarrhea. Follow that with easy-to-digest foods....

meaning all fruits and veggies peeled and cooked, etc. Details on all of this

are on the website, www.pecanbread.com so I won't take up space here.

no diarrhea

I asked a question earlier about Stevia. My other question is:

My son and I don't have diarrhea. Is there a benefit to starting at

the very beginning of the diet? All the statements in the book about

moving on mention doing it when diarrhea has stopped. He stays

constipated. My " gut " feeling is that I need to start somewhere else.

Yes, it is still important to start with the intro diet, and then move slowly

forward...starting with pealed, seeded, and cooked fruits and veggies. The

purpose of the intro diet is to clear out as much of the bad yeast and bacterial

growth as possible. If there is no diharea, then two days of intro diet are

sufficient. If diharea begins when you implement the intro, you still need to

move forward after five days of intro diet. There is a " stages " chart on

pecanbread.comthat you can use simply as a guideline of which foods are usually

tolerated most easily. Introducing more difficult to digest foods such as raw

fruits and veggies, nuts, seeds, ect. will be difficult on the tender, new

tissue in the gut lining as well as serve as food for any of the harmful

microbes that were a bit stronger, and survived the intro diet. Those heartier

microbes are why people sometimes experience new die off a month, two months,

three months, six months...into SCD. Some of them can really hold on in wait

for their survival foods.
