Guest guest
I could not begin to imagine what pain med you should ask for. Everybody is different and has a different tolerance to drugs. The doc will base that decision on what meds you have taken in the past and what level of pain you are in what what it will take to make that comfortable for you. You need to know tho, that narcotics can not have a refill on them, nor can they be called in to the pharmacy. So each time you need a new prescrpition you will need to get it from your local doc. Dont want to be running to Chas ever 4 weeks just for a scrpt! He can write for something and you can let your local doc know that and they can rewrite the script when you need a refill. I have 3 kids as well and tried like the devil not to loose my job. I tried everything non narcotic to control the pain and it did not help much. I really hated to give up control. What I didn't realize until later is that I had already lost control to the pain. When I felt better I was able to do so much more. I did not get zombie like, well not until the evening...lol. I take Lortab now and it does help a lot. But for a very long time I had takeen Demerol and Dilaudid. I am so glad I dont have to take those any more and am looking for a new job. I thank Dr. for that. You do know that he is a surgeon. Do you know what you will be seeing him for exactly? You said you have a psuedocyst. What test have you had to deterimine that? Have you ever had an ERCP or a CT quided tests? Well if there is anything else I can do to help please dont hesitate. We have quite a gang of Carolina girls on this group and have been toying with the idea of getting together some time. We will have to add you to the list. Guest guest
Chrissy, I think I am going to Dr. Adam's or Dr. Cotton. I am not sure yet. I will call Peggy tomorrow and find out. I have not had the ERCP yet. From what I have read on here I am not sure if I can have it. I have had gastric bypass surgery so that changes things a little. I don't know how that will affect how the do the test. I have had the CT that is what made the cyst show up. An MRI didn't show anything and for almost a year they kept telling me I should be getting better. Well.... I finally got fed up with the pain and sickness and the doc did a CT and it was there. I am looking forward to going to MUSC to a doc that actually knows what he is doing!!!! Thanks for sharing your info with me! That would be great if all of the SC people could get together for a meeting or something! Angie in SC
