Guest guest
I don't have personal experience in Europe but have heard of all the clinics you mentioned. There is a plagio group in spain. Forum is in spanish, but there are likely english speakers too, and they could give you info on docband clinics there: http://es./group/Plagiocefalia/ I know for the docband clinic the bands are still made in the arizona headquarters, so band is the same. My daughter had brachy and was treated when we were living in californis. She wore a starband. It was an easy option for us because it was close by and covered by our insurance. Also luckily the provider was very experienced. Good luck with your baby and the ash :-) -christine sydney, 4 yrs, starband grad > > > Hello! > > I have just joined the group and would appreciate any help regarding > banding in Europe. > > > > I currently live in Greece but have also live in the UK and have a baby > who is 4.5 months old and has moderate brachycephaly. > > > > I am looking for treatment in Europe as there is no treatment available > in Greece. > > > > I have an appointment with: > > * the LOC clinic (Mr S Hamid - London Orthotics > Consultancy-Locband)in London and > * Technology in Motion (Serena Stubbs) in London and > * with Dr Blecher in Germany (Ahead4babies or > Cranioform-Craniohelmet) in 2 weeks time (hopefully the cloud of > volcanic ash will have disappeared by then and i will manage to fly!). > > > > I would be grateful if you would help me with my decision if you had any > experience with any of them. Did your baby have also brachycephaly?I have also found out that Docband in available in Spain (Madrid and Barcelona - Dr Pinyot-DocBand). Has anyone used those clinics? Should i book an appointment and fly also there before i decide which helmet provider to choose? My son just graduated from his DOC Band 1 week ago. He also had brachycephaly, that was considered severe. He's had phenomenal results! His head looks completely NORMAL in every respect. No one, not even those familiar with the characteristics of Brachy, would ever be able to tell that he once had it! If you have the ability to go with the DOC Band at one of their licensed clinics in Spain, I would highly recommend doing so. I have heard of a couple of the other providers that you've listed. I'm not sure of the quality of their product, treatment or outcome. The DOC Band was the first FDA-approved cranial remolding device on the market. They have since treated 55,000 children. They are the "leaders" in the field of treating abnormal head shapes. This is all they do, unlike other orthotic companies, who manufacture several types of orthotics and prosthetics. If it were me, I would head directly to one of their licensed centers in Spain. Good Luck in whatever you choose!
Guest guest
Hello! Thank you for ur reply and suggestion. I have turned towards UK because that's where i used to live so i guess it was more straightforward to me. I will contact though Dr Pinyot in Spain and speak to him. I saw your baby picts and he looks fantastic! Well done! How long did the treatment last? > > I would be grateful if you would help me with my decision if you had any > experience with any of them. Guest guest
Hi I was aware of the Spanish group you mentioned and had tried to join it but my request is still waiting for approval It's been many days now. I think that apart from the helmet quality, experience of the provider is equally important. How long did ur treatment last? I guess u were happy with the result! > > > > > > Hello! > > > > I have just joined the group and would appreciate any help regarding > > banding in Europe. > > > > > > > > I currently live in Greece but have also live in the UK and have a baby > > who is 4.5 months old and has moderate brachycephaly. > > > > > > > > I am looking for treatment in Europe as there is no treatment available > > in Greece. > > > > > > > > I have an appointment with: > > > > * the LOC clinic (Mr S Hamid - London Orthotics > > Consultancy-Locband)in London and > > * Technology in Motion (Serena Stubbs) in London and > > * with Dr Blecher in Germany (Ahead4babies or > > Cranioform-Craniohelmet) in 2 weeks time (hopefully the cloud of > > volcanic ash will have disappeared by then and i will manage to fly!). > > > > > > > > I would be grateful if you would help me with my decision if you had any > > experience with any of them. Guest guest
Vicky- I am currently deciding between the 3 clinics that you mentioned in your post. Who did you decide to go with? How has it gone? Thanks, is > > > Hello! Guest guest
HelloMy Son Jack who is nearly 12 month was fitted with his LOC Band by Mr S Hamid on Friday, we are building up his wear over this weekend. So far we have been very happy with them. We chose this clinic purely on the fact it is the closest to us. There is also another one not that far away in Wimbledon, but because jack is already quiet old, we didn;t want to delay getting the band any further getting second opinions etc, LOC have been very good letting us pay the £1950 over 4 payments spread out over a few months. This has greatly helped our cash flow.:)On 7 October 2010 22:14, amcjohnson <amcjohnson@...> wrote: Vicky- I am currently deciding between the 3 clinics that you mentioned in your post.
