Guest guest
My husband has been fighting chronic pancreatitis since Sept. 2004. They told us this week that his pancreas is enlarged again, he is scared to eat and he is tired of the constant pain. To make matters worse - he can't file for SSI yet - so our budget is extremely tight. They are waiting on the results of a test regarding his ducts as his liver enzymes have never came down since his 23 day hospital stay. They just keep getting higher. I have faith in his Dr. that trained at Emory in pancreatitis - but am impatient for Mark to feel better. It is so hard to watch him and hold him when he is hurting. I feel so useless when he is in pain. I have read that the doctors will use pancratic enzymes to help the pain - but his hasn't even offered that to him. I'm worried that he will get addicted to the pain medicines - he's on mepergane - 2 pills every 6 hours - and even with them he still hurts. Anyway...just wanted to drop a line about us and introduce our situation. Thanks for letting me vent and I hope to learn more from this group as I keep researching the disease.
