Guest guest
Kris, thanks for letting me know who your GI doc is. I have actually corresponded with Dr. Lehman via e-mail. I was absolutely shocked when he responded so quickly to my e-mail after I contacted him back in the summer of 2002. He told me that he would be very happy to see me or to even talk to my GI here about me. He did say that since I'd had the gastric bypass and my GI had been unsuccessful in going as far as he needed to with the ERCP, that he would most likely also not be successful with an ERCP on me. So, I think for right now, my best bet may be to go to the surgeon in B'ham who did a whipple on my sister-in-law's friend that has pancreatitic cancer. I have an appt with my pcp tomorrow and I am going to ask him to set up an appt for me to go to this surgeon. I'm not positive that surgery is the answer but I do think it is time to consider it. The surgeon's name is Dr. , III, and he is at Baptist Montclair in Birmingham, AL. Of all the hospitals I've been in, which is quite a few, Baptist Montclair is my absolute favorite. Sad to have a favorite hospital. I'm sure many here can relate, though. The entire staff is so incredibly kind. So, if I have to have surgery, Baptist Montclair hospital would be my first choice. Birmingham is 100 miles away but that's certainly better than Indiana, which would be about 6 hours for me. W
