Guest guest
Judy, I was able to breastfeed because the ob/gyn put me on Reglan for nausea. This drug also stimulates breastmilk, so it has a 2 in one benefit for pregnant women. As for the pain being more frequent during pregnancy, as I understand it to be, my attacks were more severe and often during my pregnancy, because as the baby grows, it causes your organs and diaphragm to be pushed upward, which constricts the space with which your pancreas and ducts are used to. Once I had my daughter, I went back to less frequent attacks, but then I also had surgery 2 months after to try and correct my problem causing the pancreatitis and it was different to the general causes on this support site. My OB/GYN was concerned that I would have a bad flare up during pregnancy, and was expecting to have to perform an emergency C section. For that reason and also the fact that I had been dealt enough pain during the past 2 years, I opted for an epidural. Thankfully, I had an easy and cp pain free delivery. Guest guest
Hi Judy, Sorry that you are going through so much during your pregnancy. I've had 2 pregnancies with no complications. My flare ups were more frequent after the pregnancies. During the pregnancies I would get flare ups once a month or once twice a month but they were tolerable. After my pregnancies the flare ups were more frequent. But everyone is different. I hope you continue to do well. Soon you will be holding your precious baby. Take care and God Bless!
