Guest guest
I am not sure about the " vegetable capsule " .... that doesn't give enough information. I would also rather know more specifically what " plant fiber " they are talking about. Just the words " plant fiber " are really pretty general. What brand name is this? Patti ingredients legal/illegal Lactobacillus acidophilus Other ingrd. hypo-allergenic plant fiber, vegetable capsule THANKS,

Guest guest
, I went to the company's website... but it gives even less information there. It still just says " hypoallergenic plant fiber added " ... this is as a filler, inside the capsule. I really can't say if this is legal or not, based on that. Is this the only one you can get? Or being recommended by your doctor? You would have to contact the company directly... and have them tell you more specifically what the fiber is. If it's one of the legal fillers (please check www.pecanbread.com under " supplements " for a list of legal supplement additives), then it wouldn't matter what the capsule was made out of, if you are going to open the caps and sprinkle the probiotic into food or drink. Otherwise, you'll need to verify exactly what the capsule is made out of, too. Guest guest
<<Patti, I found this page with questions and answers on the supplements. http://www.purecaps.com/faqs.asp#4>> Good... then maybe this page will tell you what kind of plant fiber they are using. Compare that information to the list of legal supplement additives and you'll be able to determine whether these are legal. I'm sorry, I don't have time to research this in depth for you. Guest guest
, I think it is the plant fiber that is in question and the faqs says it's cellulose and this is what it says on Elaine's site www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info. Pearl Cellulose (in supplements) Legal Cellulose in your supplements is okay and virtually impossible to avoid. l_sprosty wrote: Patti, I found this page with questions and answers on the supplements. http://www.purecaps.com/faqs.asp#4 --------------------------------- Don't get soaked. Guest guest
This is the info I found. Would someone like to give an oppinion as to whether they feel it is legal or not??? Thanks Is everything in the capsule listed on the label? Absolutely. In 1991, we pioneered the practice of providing complete ingredient disclosure (Accepted industry practice was to hide or omit allergenic fillers or exipients). Pure Encapsulations supplement labels list all ingredients. Additionally, if an herbal ingredient is listed, our label details the strength of the standardized extract. Do your products contain wheat, rice, gluten, dairy, fillers, etc? No. Our products are hypo-allergenic. They contain no dairy, wheat, yeast, gluten, corn, sugar, starch, preservatives or hydrogenated oils. In addition, they contain no hidden coatings, excipients, binders, fillers, shellacs, artificial colors or fragrance. Other companies may use magnesium stearate, preservatives, BHA or BHT in their products. What does hypo-allergenic mean? The term hypo-allergenic is used to describe products that are free of binders, fillers, excipients, dyes, and common allergens What is the hypo-allergenic plant fiber used to fill capsules for some products? The hypo-allergenic plant fiber we use is a pharmaceutical grade alpha cellulose derived from purified specialty grades of wood pulp from Southern pine. Due to the nature of the raw material (wood pulp) and the manufacturing process, it does not contain alcohol, grain, corn, corn starch, sulfa, sulfites, animal products or gluten. In addition, it is free of pesiticides and heavy metals. There are no known allergens in this plant fiber. What is the source of your Veggie Capsules? The capsules are made from Southern Pine, grown in the US. The pine is pesticide free. > > l_sprosty wrote: > Patti, > > I found this page with questions and answers on the supplements. > > http://www.purecaps.com/faqs.asp#4 > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > Don't get soaked. Guest guest
I think someone responded to you yesterday, saying that it seems that what they are saying in this passage: <<What is the hypo-allergenic plant fiber used to fill capsules for some products? The hypo-allergenic plant fiber we use is a pharmaceutical grade alpha cellulose derived from purified specialty grades of wood pulp >> ....is stating that the " plant fiber " is basically wood cellulose. That is how I interpret it. You will have to decide for yourself, though. If it's wood cellulose, it would be legal, as suggested in that reply yesterday. I'm sorry this is the closest we can come to declaring a product legal or illegal. Patti
