Guest guest
Hi, I just had gallbladder surgery 2 weeks ago and am still having abdominal pain when I eat. I am going to have to have further evaluation. I want to be sure the surgery itself didn't cause further problems and see if there is some additional source for the pain. I was hoping someone here might be able to suggest the best doctor I could find in the Boston area and if there are any tests I could request that would give me conclusive information without having an ERCP? Aside from pain and swelling, I am not nauseaous or queasy, I have had an MRCP almost a year ago, a Hida scan, an ultrasound that showed no dilation of ducts or organs, and no significant elevation of any enzymes or liver function tests, except a slightly higher than normal Bilirubin. I did have elevation of enzymes in the past during some crisis, but they were not even twice normal. The reason I still think the pancreas could be involved, [and now maybe a surgical complication?] is because I have not been able to eat right for a long time and for the past 6 months have had to take bile tablets and enzymes in order to eat at all. I think Laurie mentioned an MRCP that used CCK? to trigger the pancreas that can be done? Can anyone expand on the value of that test? Or recommend others? Thanks very much, Adam
