Guest guest
The white stuff is various forms that you're seeing in the stools of the kids is die off. I know it must be hard. Hang in there. Could you have your son wear gloves to help with the biting? Does he understand you enough that you can explain to him that it will help protect him? Does he understand for you to tell him that he'll feel better soon. I don't think it will last long. Meleah Day #71-questions Dear Friends-About 1-2 weeks ago we started seeing white, filmy stuff on the stools of our 2 older children, it stopped a couple days ago and then there were these small pieces of white, thread-like things in the stool of our eldest. It really looked like tiny pieces of cotton gauze! The last couple days have been awful for him- he is jumping and writhing and keeps rubbing his knuckles and fingers. I worry about this because before we eliminated soy from his diet about 1.5 years ago he would bite his finger tips until they bled. 2 days ago I saw him biting his fingers and I need to know if ANYONE has an idea how to keep him from starting this again. We went to a highly recommended psych. when this was at its worst and she told us not to worry because " he didn't feel it. " My son feels everything. He used to plead for soaks in tub with epsom salts. The last few days we need to offer them (he is still happy to get in tub). It was surreal last night to have him ask me to hold him in my arms as he cannot bear physical contact. He is so thin. The rash he had during the first month scd is reappearing on his back, his appetite is not good (ate only jello two days ago) We are giving baths and charcoal. Everything seems to be digested in stools. I hope this is just die-off. Is there anything else I can do to help him? Thank you all so much. Guest guest
My son used to pick at the back of his hands until they bled, and then he would keep picking. It was horrifying to watch. When we went GFCF, he stopped. After we had been doing SCD for quite a while, he started doing it again for a couple of weeks. I definitely think it was related to his body continuing to rid itself of toxins, etc. I know you are having a really rough time right now, but it does get better. It is worth it to stick with it. Guest guest
, This certainly sounds like die-off to me. Is he taking a magnesium supplement? I would recommend magnesium glycinate.... I give my daughter 600-800 mgs per day. She is 10 yrs old and 77 lbs. It really helps with detoxing and is calming to the neuro system.
