Guest guest
Everyone may already know this, but it took me a while to figure it out so I thought I would share it with those who have never used Fitday.com or are new to using it. I found that it was hard to put in what my son ate because a lot of what he ate I made myself and it wasn't available to choose from. I finally figured out that I could go to a prior day that didn't have anything in it. I then entered each thing I used in a recipe, i.e., 4 eggs, 2 cups acorn squash, 1/4 cup honey, etc. After I entered all my items for the recipe, I would write down the information it gave me on carbs, fat, protein, etc. Then, I went to Add a New Custom Food and named my food and entered all the nutritional information on that food. I also did this with his organic meat patties taking the information off the back of the box, and anything else I used that had nutritional info on it like his frozen peaches or mango. That way when I got ready to enter what he ate for the day I could go to the custom foods and choose squash buttons or nutbutter waffles, etc. and get a true picture of what he was eating for the day. This really helped me see that he was getting enough protein, fat, and carbs each day. I hope this makes sense and can possibly help someone. I have SCD Cheesecake, Pecan Muffins, Moussaka, Lasagna and other frequently used recipes entered in that way. Fitday is so useful! You can journal your progress, keep track of exercise. set goals and make sure you have balanced daily intake according to your needs. You can also get a report on your weight over time and see if you are fulfilling your nutrient requirements. Carol F.
