Guest guest Posted February 10, 2005 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 Kim, the one thing that I can think of that a hospital might not want to use a generic one for is if someone has loaded the information from their own computer to this new key one has bought from Walmart (nothing to do with the store mind you) is if it is a possibility that the information on file could be infected with a virus. This is only reasoning if one purchases the medic alert health key, the medic alert staff actually upload the information onto their keys themselves. Now, if for example I purchas the medicalert healthkey and they send it to me and I upload the information from my computer directly into the key myself, then it would still be beneficial to me to purchase the generic one from Walmart.
