My almost 3 yr old had his 1st pulmozyme treatment today in his

nebulizer. The medicine ran out in 3 minutes! Is that normal? I am

used to the TOBI lasting 10 minutes and still having about 1cc

leftover. It did sit in the nebulizer for about an hour before

Ashton had it. could it have evaporated that quickly? We are new to

this neb thing!

If you are using the sidestream neb cups they do work very fast!

It's nice. It takes a bit longer with Pari neb cups. But in my

experience, 3 mintues sounds about right...

What 10 mins for TOBI??? ok we are getting whatever cup you are

using! It takes us between 20 to 30 mins for a whole ampule of TOBI

and I guess around 5 mins for pulmozyme. So, it seems like you are

doing everything right by your numbers.

I have noticed that the medicine leaks out of the nebulizer if it

sits before you use it. I now put the medicine in right before we use

it and put my finger underneath it so the medicine doesn't drip out.

One other thing - I attach the hose to the empty neb cup to force air

through the nebulizer. I am amazed at how much moisture is trapped in

the nebulizer from the last treatment even though it looks dry.
