Guest guest
I just had one in Decmber in Indiana and it was $1500. It was an abodominal one with IV and oral contrast. Depending on what type of CT you are doing will affect the cost (as well as the region of the country in which it is done). That does not include the cost of the radiologists time for looking at the films and dictating the report. I think you need to add another 300 to 500 dollars for this. Guest guest
I believe it depends on the state, and hospital as to the costs. I have had many CT scans. One from a profit making hospital..they charged $3760 for a scan, then at MD Cancer Center, my insurance was only billed $946 for their scan, UT Medical Center in Knoxville charge around $1500, whilst Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville charged more than $1500 and in the same state. It is possible that teaching hospitals are less expensive for running their tests, but that is only a guess on my part. Regards, Ward PAI Support Administration Staff dceward@... Unfortunately, for a long time, there was only one hospital to go to and only one where my first GI practiced. I feel that my lifelong insurance maximum has been greatly taken advange of. The present cost for a CT-scan of abdomen and pelvis are billed separately, even though they are done at one time and together at the hospital I had to use for the first two years of my CP care. That hospital is the Hilton Head Regional Medical Center, Hilton Head Island, SC, (a Tenet facility),and they charge the princely fee of $4,500. Sad to say, I had 12 CT-scans at that facility in a two year time frame. The hospital I use now, St. ph's/Candler in Savannah, charges $1,750.....quite a difference! My son had a scan in Walterboro, SC, which only cost $875. My CT-scan at the Mayo Clinic was around $2,600, I believe. It's obviously different in different parts of the country and specifically varies from one hospital to another within a 75 mile radius. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
