Koreana/Pusan Market on Telegraph at 23rd (I think) in Oakland - really big

Korean market with lots of lovely food, but take your glasses and read the

tiny print on the English labels. " Starch " is another word for flour - as

in Acorn Starch is what we might call acorn flour. They also have lots of

lovely frozen fish and good prices!

Hi all,

I live in the east bay, in emeryville, I keep reading that Asian

markets are the place to go to get rice flours that are finely

ground and not so gritty. Can anyone suggest a market in this

area that would be convenient for me.

Thanks

Sabreena

There is always Chinatown in Oakland. There are many markets there.

There used to be a 99 Ranch Market across the freeway from Costco. It's a huge Safeway-size market with tons of choices. I'm not positive it's still there though, I haven't been in quite a while.

Yep, still there and lots of good stuff,

but further from Emeryville than the one on Telegraph or Chinatown in Oakland
